Avery’s House’s programs for at risk youth in Boise, Idaho
Watching your teen struggle can be one of the most challenging experiences as a parent. At Avery’s House, we understand your concerns and have designed behavioral and mental health programs tailored for at-risk teens. Our commitment is to stand alongside you, offering expert guidance and proven strategies to help your teen overcome challenges and flourish.
Residential Program
- Teens stay at our comfortable, home-like facility for the duration of the program, receiving 24/7 supervision from our compassionate team of mental health professionals.
Day Treatment Program
- The PHP program provides a smooth transition out of residential treatment and helps teens readjust to life at home, while maintaining therapeutic support.
IOP – Intensive Outpatient
- Ideal for adolescents with commitments like work, school, or family, who can't participate in a full-time program. Instead, they attend 3-4 therapy sessions each week at our outpatient facility.
We Accept Insurance
We work with most major insurance providers to help minimize the cost of treatment for at-risk youth. See if your provider will cover treatment costs.
What is an at-risk youth?
An “at-risk youth” typically refers to a young person who is statistically more likely to experience negative outcomes, such as academic failure, dropping out of school, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, mental health issues, or criminal activities, due to a range of environmental, familial, and personal factors.
It is important to provide these young people with the appropriate resources and support systems to help them overcome these challenges and reach their full potential.
It’s crucial to understand that being at risk doesn’t predetermine negative outcomes for a child. With the right interventions, support, and resources, many at-risk youths can overcome challenges and thrive in their adulthood.
Factors for at-risk youth
Several factors contribute to the at-risk classification and often stem from the child’s environment, family, education, and personal behaviors.
- Economic Deprivation: Living in poverty
- Family Environment: Experiencing family disruptions or parental issues
- Educational Challenges: Academic struggles or disciplinary histories
- Mental Health Issues: Dealing with mental disorders
- Substance Abuse: Using drugs or alcohol
- Peer Influences: Associating with negative peer groups
- Community Environment: Living in high-crime areas
- System Involvement: Histories with juvenile justice or child services
