Program highlights
Explore the core pillars of our program, which are designed to support and enrich the unique recovery journey of each adolescent in our care.

Duration
Our program usually lasts 6 to 8 weeks, but length varies based on each child’s unique needs and our clinicians’ professional recommendations.

Modalities
Our treatment includes personalized plans that often include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), approaches proven to promote healing and personal growth.

Group Support
Our group therapy, which is rooted in trauma-informed care, fosters resilience and peer support, enhancing teens’ coping strategies within a supportive community.

Educational Advocacy
Avery’s House mandates that each participant continue an educational track tailored to their specific needs and goals. This ensures continued learning and promotes academic success.

Case Management Services
This service manages treatment details, supports families, and ensures each teen has everything they need to recover and thrive. In short, it ensures all aspects of the program work together smoothly.

Psychiatric Services with Medication Management
Our approach includes a thorough evaluation by a qualified psychiatrist, who will tailor and monitor medication regimens for those who could benefit from pharmacological support.
Stay involved in your child’s healing journey
Studies consistently demonstrate that teens experience better recovery outcomes (e.g., fewer behavioral problems and improved overall well-being) when parents actively participate in their treatment. The positive impact of parent participation is clear and compelling, making it an indispensable element of effective adolescent care.
Our program therefore includes the following elements:
- Weekly visitation: Parents are invited to visit their child for two hours every Sunday.
- Family therapy sessions: We offer weekly family therapy sessions.
- Parent support groups: Parents are required to join a weekly parent support group, where they learn essential tools for supporting their child.
- Daily evening calls: Teens in our programs call their parents every evening.
What to bring: Packing for comfort and care
As your teen prepares to join our residential treatment program, it’s important that they have everything needed to make their stay comfortable and conducive to healing. Since they will be living on site throughout treatment, we recommend packing items that will help transform our center into their home away from home. Here’s a list of suggested items to pack:
- Identification (e.g., driver’s license, school ID)
- Insurance card (if applicable)
- Prescribed medications
- Clothing (one week’s worth)
